Project Description
This award winning Paddington landscape is all about usable and accessible spaces with the addition of a new family sized pool. The clients wanted to be able to have multiple usable areas for entertaining and relaxing while being able to look out onto a lush tropical backdrop of planting. It was important to continue many of the existing house and surrounding landscape materials such as timber, concrete and existing plants into the rest of the landscape.
There are two main feature spaces within this landscape, the first level is the pool area, which within the space feels as it if extends out into the backdrop of tropical plants. Surrounded by composite decking, it provides a functional leisure space for sunbathing, relaxing or the occasional jump into the pool!
The next level down brings you to the fire pit / conversation area where the ‘L’ shaped honed and polished concrete bench is the feature within this space. The clients loved the use of polished concrete within their house so it became a great feature to continue out into the outdoor space. The led strip lighting under the bench gives the illusion of a floating bench.
